Image Viewer
The Image Viewer shows a PNG from your project at any zoom. For a
registered image it also sets the image's mipmap settings. Open it by
clicking a .png in Explorer or a PNG image in the
Asset Browser.
The header shows the image's name, path, size, format and color space (sRGB or Linear / data).
| Control | Action |
|---|---|
| Zoom out / Zoom in | Zoom out or in. |
| Fit | Fits the image in the view (the default). |
| 100% | Shows one image pixel per screen pixel. |
| Reload | Rereads the PNG from disk. |
| Mouse wheel | Zooms toward the pointer. |
| Middle-drag, scrollbars | Pan. |
Mipmap settings
Shown below the image for registered images, and also in Inspector:
| Control | Options |
|---|---|
| Mipmaps | Inherit, Enabled, Disabled |
| Levels | Inherit, Full chain, Limit |
| Max levels | 1–16 (with Limit) |
| Filter | Auto, Color (sRGB images), Data (linear images), Normal (linear normal maps) |
Each change is one Undo step in the asset registry. Save the registry and rebuild the game to see the result; the viewer always shows the original PNG. See Asset registry.
If a PNG is registered under more than one image name, or not registered at all, the settings are hidden; select the image by name in the Asset Browser.
Limits
- PNG only.
- Zoom from 1% to 1600%.
